Mother’s Day – Sunday 6th March 2016
With Mother’s day fast approaching I thought I had better start thinking of what to get my mum. So I decided to do a bit of research and found out that ‘Mother’s day’ or ‘Mothering Sunday’ as it is also known was celebrated in 1600’s to honour Jesus’s mother Mary. After a church service children would then give traditional gifts such as flowers to pay tribute to their own mother’s. So pretty much the same as today really.
As a mum myself the usual gifts of flowers and chocolates are always much appreciated but if you want something a bit different why not consider our very popular Willow Tree range called ‘Mother and daughter’ (£31.50) or ‘Mother and son’ (£31.50). We also have some Lilliput Lane cottages ‘Mother’s garden in bloom’ (£29.95) and ‘Mother’s retreat’ (£29.95) which would also make lovely gifts.
If you are looking for something totally different and need some inspiration then please donot hesitate to contact us or visit our shop on Burlington Street, Chesterfield and we will be more than willing to help. We stock a wide range of silver, gold and platinum jewellery as well and a wide selection of giftware so you are guaranteed to find the perfect gift for your mum.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone xx
